Eat, Pray, Love & Be Happy.

October 6, 2010

How are you? Still miserable? Still wondering if you’ll ever find true happiness in life?

Well now, wonder no more!

An utterly shocking *revolutionary* study found that the key to being happy may not be in genes but in your choices. What news, what news! We really are responsible for our own shizzle!!! Who would’ve thought, right? 😀

This is the groundbreaking wisdom:

  • Have a happy partner
  • Don’t be overworked or underworked
  • Prioritise family and community, and have a partner who does so as well
  • Don’t be materialistic
  • Don’t be obese

WOW. That is some major mind-blowing piece of insight. Fuck you, obese people. Literary Nobel Prize over here, please!

But before we join the party, I’d like to add one point, if you don’t mind…just one little predominant point:

  • U gotta work on all the pretty things mentioned above, baby. They don’t come and stay for free.

And guess what – I too have scientific sources for this! Ha.

“[My guru] says that people universally tend to think that happiness is a stroke of luck, something that will maybe descend upon you like fine weather if you are fortunate enough. But that’s not how happiness works. Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it…”

Elizabeth Gilbert

My sentiments exactly – why thank you for confirming my brilliance, honored Mahatma!

Seriously, people…have you not seen EAT PRAY LOVE??? – One word: Julia Roberts.
(Due to dramatic effect, I consider it completely inappropriate to credit the woman with “two words”. One word only, folks. JuliaRoberts! 😉 )

Go experience it! Go grasp it! Go live it! EAT PRAY LOVE!!! 😛

… the Lily white shall in love delight,
Nor a thorn nor a threat stain her beauty bright.

    To complement your zest… 😀
